Description

Sealed bids will be received by the City of Anacortes ("City") until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at the office of the Clerk-Treasurer, Municipal Building, P.O. Box 547, 904 6th Street, Anacortes, WA 98218, for the following equipment fabrication: FIBERGLASS REINFORCED PLASTIC (FRP) CHEMICAL TANKS. All bids must be sealed and plainly marked "FRP CHEMICAL TANKS #18-036-WTR-002". Bids received after such time and date will not be considered. No Bidder may withdraw a Bid after the deadline for the submittal of bids. Bids properly received will be publicly opened and read at the City of Anacortes following the deadline for the submission of bids. Project Description: The project provides for the custom off-site fabrication and delivery of four (4) fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) chemical tanks, all in accordance with the Invitation to Bid, Contract, General Conditions, and the Specifications. This work is considered a public work and requires that State of Washington Prevailing Wages be paid. Prevailing Wage Rates are based on the county in which the tank fabrication work is performed. A copy of the Bid Document may be downloaded from the City of Anacortes website www.anacorteswa.gov/Bids.aspx (http://www.anacorteswa.gov/Bids.aspx) or requested by e-mail matsont@cityofanacortes.org. Each bid must be submitted on the prescribed Bid Forms as prescribed in the Instructions and Information for Bidders. All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier’s check, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Anacortes. The City of Anacortes reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities in the bid or in the bid opening. Bids will be evaluated based on capital cost, operational cost, and operation and maintenance requirements for the equipment. The City reserves the right to award the equipment purchase contract ("Contract") to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as it best serves the interest of the City. The Bidder to whom the Contract is awarded shall execute and return the Contract to the City within ten (10) calendar days from the date the Notice of Award is mailed to the Bidder. In case of failure of the Bidder to execute the Contract, the Bidder shall be in default, and the City shall have the right to award the Contract to the next lowest responsive, responsible Bidder. Bid Submission and Award

The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to award the contract to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as it best serves the interest of the City. The Bidder to whom the Contract is awarded shall execute and return the Contract within ten (10) calendar days from the date the Notice of Award is mailed. Bid proposal deposits may be forfeited if the contract is not executed.
