Notice is hereby given that sealed bids for “Chlorination System Conversion Project” will be received by the City Clerk, City of Anacortes, until 2:30 pm local time, on August 9, 2018, at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read. Sealed bids shall be submitted with the Project Name and Project Number clearly marked on the outside of the envelope. Bids may be delivered to 904 6th Street, Anacortes, Washington, 98221 or mailed to, City Clerk, P.O. Box 547, Anacortes, Washington, 98221. Proposals received after the time fixed for opening will not be considered. This project consists of construction and installation of equipment for a new liquid chemical feed and storage system including the following: Construction of concrete secondary containment walls and equipment pads. Installation of chemical storage tanks, pumps, and associated pipes, valves, and appurtenances. Installation of instruments, power and signal wiring, and control panels. Integration of instrumentation and controls and SCADA programming. Selective demolition of existing equipment and piping. Equipment testing and assistance during system startup. Payment of all associated taxes and fees. The work will be done within an operating water treatment plant. The existing gas chlorine feed system must remain in continuous operation throughout construction. All applicable process safety management requirements will be strictly adhered to. The Engineer’s estimate for this project is $825,000. The Contractor information packages should be submitted with the Project Name and Project Number stated under seal and marked “CONFIDENTIAL” to City Clerk of the City of Anacortes 904 6th Street, Anacortes, Washington, 98221 on or before August 9, 2018, until the hour of 2:30 o'clock p.m., local time, of said day. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Anacortes. A pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 p.m. on July 26, 2018 at the City of Anacortes Water Treatment Plant, 14489 River Bend Rd., Mount Vernon, Washington 98273. Representatives of OWNER and ENGINEER will be present to discuss the Project. BIDDERS are encouraged to attend the conference.
