CITY OF GIG HARBOR PUBLIC WORKS - ENGINEERING DIVISION REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ) Harborview Drive & Stinson Avenue Intersection Improvement Project. Project No. 1904. INTRODUCTION The City of Gig Harbor Public Works Department (City) is soliciting qualifications from engineering firms for design of intersection improvements at the Harborview Drive and Stinson Avenue intersection. An alternatives analysis will be necessary in order to determine the appropriate intersection treatment. The design is funded with City funds. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The City is requesting consultant assistance from a qualified engineering firm, who will act as an extension of City staff, in completing the design associated with the intersection improvements at Harborview Drive and Stinson Avenue in compliance with City of Gig Harbor Public Works Standards. The project consists of an alternatives analysis to determine the appropriate intersection treatment. New ADA compliant pedestrian facilities and connections to existing pedestrian facilities are to be included. Stormwater design and compliance with City of Gig Harbor stormwater manual is required.

Submission Requirements

Submittals shall be no more than ten (10) single-sided pages, including key project personnel background, proposed sub-consultants (if any) with qualifications, relevant project history, references, and other information as deemed necessary. Please include a cover letter, not to exceed one single sided page (not part of the 10-page limit) with no other attachments. Submittals should include the following information: Firm name, address, and phone number; Name of Principal-in-Charge and Project Manager; and Number of employees in each firm proposed to the project. Please submit FIVE (5) paper copies of Statement of Qualifications no later than 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2019 to: Public Works Engineering Department Attn: Maureen Whitaker, Executive Assistant City of Gig Harbor 3510 Grandview Street Gig Harbor, WA 98335. Eligibility Criteria

Qualifications from engineering firms; ability to enter into the City’s Standard Professional Services Contract (terms are not modifiable); familiarity with Washington State Department of Transportation Local Agency Guidelines; ability to perform design and alternatives analysis; ADA and Title VI nondiscrimination compliance; ability to provide field exploration and topographic/boundary surveys; ability to coordinate with City Council and Public Works Committee; able to provide illumination calculations and photometric analysis; готовность to prepare bid-ready documents and obtain necessary permits.
