Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the City of Mount Vernon at the office of the City Finance Director, 910 Cleveland Avenue, Mount Vernon, Washington 98273 until 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 30, 2015, at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read. Bids should be clearly marked "Downtown Flood Protection Project - Phase 3A". Proposals received after the time fixed for opening will not be considered. The work to be performed under this contract shall include clearing and grubbing, removal of structures and obstructions, demolition of three single-family residential structures, constructing 1,325 LF of new levee, raising 1,675 LF of existing levee, removing and replacing chain link fence, seeded lawn installation, and erosion control. All work shall be in accordance with the Contract Plans, Special Provisions, the Standard Specifications, including the amendments thereto, and Standard Plans. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the City of Mount Vernon Wastewater Treatment Plant, 1401 Britt Road, Mount Vernon, Washington, 98273, on July 15, at 10:00 a.m. Bidders are encouraged to attend. The engineer's estimate of probable construction cost for the project is in the range of $1.2 to $1.5 million.
