The City of Mount Vernon is accepting sealed bid proposals for the 4th Street N / Riverside Drive RR Crossing project. The deadline for submitting bids is Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at 11:00 am. Bids can be mailed or hand delivered to The City Vernon Finance Office at 910 Cleveland Avenue, Mount Vernon, WA 98273. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at 11:00 am at the City of Mount Vernon Public Works Department, 1024 Cleveland Avenue, Mount Vernon, WA 98273. This Contract provides for improvement of Riverside Dr at BNSF Rail Crossing 084758W, within the vicinity of the intersection of Riverside Dr at Alder Ln. Work includes the construction of sidewalks, curb and gutter, ADA ramps, ADA rail crossing transitions, driveway entrances, grinding, planing, asphalt HMA prelevel, asphalt HMA overlay, raising utilities, signage, channelization and pavement markings, Wayside Horn system, and other improvements. The City of Mount Vernon reserves the right to reject any or all bid proposals, revise or cancel the work, complete the work by other means, or to postpone the bid award by up to thirty (30) days after bid opening. The City of Mount Vernon reserves the right to accept a proposal of the bidder submitting the lowest responsible bid, to reject any or all bids, republish the call for bids, revise or cancel the work to be performed, or do the work otherwise, if the best interest of the City is served thereby. The City of Mount Vernon also reserves the right to postpone the bid award for a period of thirty (30) calendar days after bid opening.
