Proposals are now Due on Monday January 13, 2025, at 9:00AM Pasco is a rapidly growing city projected to exceed 140,000 residents by 2045. This growth necessitates a resilient and sustainable energy infrastructure to meet community needs while addressing climate change, economic development, and affordability challenges. The Energy Resilience and Electrical System Study (ERESS) will assess Pasco's energy systems, identify vulnerabilities, and provide actionable strategies to enhance resilience, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and support regional sustainability goals. In parallel, the City of Pasco is undertaking significant planning efforts to update its Comprehensive Plan in alignment with the Washington State Growth Management Act. These updates will include assessments of land use patterns, economic growth strategies, and utility systems to accommodate future growth. The ERESS is designed to complement the Comprehensive Plan by supplementing and referencing its findings as necessary. This study also aligns with Washington House Bill 1181, signed into law in 2023, which mandates the integration of climate resilience and greenhouse gas reduction strategies into local comprehensive plans.
